More Information

This February 1947 concert at the Carnegie Hall was the first public performance together of the two New Orleans giants, Louis Armstrong and clarinettist Edmond Hall. The band consisted of Ed Hall's sharp little combo which had been working steadily at Cafe Society.

That same year, Armstrong gave up his larger unit and returned to a small group format. Included on this CD is a selection of radio broadcasts made by his All Stars
